A sketch of an autobiography (not to be written)
Koen Brams will talk about three episodes in his career:
a. about running De Witte Raaf (Brussels), an art magazine in a small language community (1991-2000);
b. about directing the Jan van Eyck Academie (Maastricht), a post-academic institute after 9/11 (2000-2011),
c. and about being a freelance researcher and writer (2011-S), devoting his life more or less to an 'alternative history' of the visuals arts in Belgium.
Koen Brams (°1964, BE) is a freelance researcher and writer. He is the former editor-in-chief of De Witte Raaf (1992-2000) and former director of the Jan van Eyck Academie (2000-2011). Together with Dirk Pültau he conducts a research project about art in Belgium since 1945.
