Unge Kunstneres Samfund (UKS) is a contemporary art gallery in central Oslo and a members’ organization for visual artists. Established in 1921, UKS works for the economical and social rights of artists.

Johanne Nordby Wernø (1980) is an Oslo based writer, critic and curator, trained at the University of Oslo (BA in Aesthetic Theory, 2006) and Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm (MFA in critical writing and curatorial practice, 2009). She is serving as director of UKS, Unge Kunstneres Samfund, in Oslo, for the period of 2013 through 2017.
