After film studies in Stockholm, Sweden, Helga Fjordholm has been active in Norwegian film since the early 90’ies, as a film producer, editor and festival programmer, In ‘99 she established her own production company, Fjordholm filmproduksjon. Documentaries and short films have been the main activity, often in the outskirts of the categories. The films focus on our culture and recent history, e.g. by shedding light on cinema itself or through observing certain consequences of the collapse of the Soviet Union. Later and ongoing projects are moving towards more personal or essayistisc documentaries, and through collaborations with Inger Lise Hansen and Jannicke Låker, Fjordholm moves into the field where cinema meets the visual arts.
