Timescapes: renegotiating time and landscapes through paintings and installations
by Apichaya Wanthiang

I will be talking about my developement so far, my interest in slowing down time and gently nudging the viewer to contemplate and experience the present. After a short presentation of earlier works I will discuss projects I am working on at the moment, which concerns live-streaming from the North-East of Thailand to Norway, building immersive installations and reflecting on social bounderies and the distinction from living with the land, or being rather cut off from the land.

Apichaya Wanthiang(b. 1987) graduated at KHIB in 2012, is mostly active in painting and building immersive installations. At the moments she works as aspirant at BEK, Bergen Center for Electronic Art and as guest teacher at KHIB. Upcoming Exhibition includes a curated exhibiton at KNIPSU(Bergen) called I Love Your Manner Full of Deceit opening 23th of January 2014, and a solo exhibition at USF Without Waiting for Her Reply, which will open 4th of April 2014.
