Lecture-presentation Jeremy Welsh & Trond Lossius
Jeremy Welsh and Trond Lossius had been collaborating for several years on audio-visual projects, within research projects at Kunst- og designhøgskolen i Bergen, and as independent artists. Their current project The Atmospherics has recently been exhibited at Galleri 3,14 and Visningsrom USF in Bergen, and at Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall in Arendal. They are currently in production with a new phase of the project, based on field recordings made in the Trondheim region, on the islands of Munkholm and Tautra. Their work is generally presented in the form of large-scale audio visual installations, with multiple video projection and 360 degree surround sound. Trond Lossius is a composer and sound artist and a project leader at Bergen Centre for Electronic Arts. He has also been a professor at Bergen Academy of Art & design and at The Grieg Academy in Bergen. Jeremy Welsh is professor at KiT and formerly professor and Dean of the Fine Art Dept. at Bergen Academy of Art and Design. In this short presentation Lossius and Welsh will show documentation of previous works, samples from work in progress, and will discuss their working methods and artistic philosophy.
