speaker/speaker is an upcoming show at Galleri KiT by Kim Hankyul (South Korea), Laurie Lax (UK) and Gentian Meikleham (UK), artists based in Bergen.
They are holding a collaborative workshop called Knowing when to speak for KiT students, which will generate some of the material in the show (with the possible inclusion of a live performance, recording and / or publication).

About the workshop:
Who speaks on the phone anymore?
Do you remember a particular phone call? Who were you speaking to?
Why was it memorable? How did the conversation go?
It doesn’t matter if you made it up!

We want to remember faithfully. We want to get better at listening. We want to not interrupt. We want to know when to interject. The aim is to generate a ‘live-combinatory-script-performance’, based on memorable phone conversations.

This is the second iteration of the workshop Knowing when to speak, first conceived of by artist Audrey Hurd (from Canada) and exhibiting artist Laurie Lax during a TEXST Group writing retreat in spring 2018. TEXST group is an open testing-ground for text based work in Bergen, often culminating in performances, publications and events.
There will be 2 or 3 sessions during weeks 48 and 49 plus a presentation of the resulting work. If you would like to participate please email us a few sentences about your motivation:
