WHAT? A two day happening where you can buy books, experience performances, readings, lectures and join the open mic!

WHEN? March 17th-18th, 2018

Saturday 13.00-23.00 & Sunday 13.00-20.00

WHERE? Gallery KiT, Innherredsveien 7, Trondheim

Groucho Marx said that “Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.” Well, it’s still a dark long and cold winter in Trondheim and your dog probably wants to stay home. But a man is a social being and needs new wordy friends. That is why we want to invite you to the KiT Book Happening to explore many ways in which a book becomes an art object. Not just that, a book can develop your verbal abilities and expand your understanding of what is possible. Unlike your dog, we the artists and other friendly creative humans participating in the KiT Book Happening, can understand what is possible and redefine the book into an art object, a performance, a lecture in the gallery KiT space. Light, sound, and an element of spectator participation, a word here, a folding there, letterpress, hand press, inking, painting, lithography, binding, constructing, reconstructing and deconstructing, limited editions and zines to illuminate the intimate perspectives of questions about our connection to different worlds of ideas.

Spread the word and be part of this happening which runs from Saturday 13.00-23.00 and Sunday 13.00-20.00. Throughout the opening hours, the books will be on display and available to buy, all while you can enjoy a snack or a drink from the bar, experience performances, lectures or participate with your own thoughts and words at the open mic.

The event is organized by MFA students from Trondheim Art Academy, but include several cultural participants.
