Marique Potens is an exhibition of new work which highlights the talismanic logic of island cultures and their relationship with the sea. Drawing upon feminist perspectives around nautical mythology it explores the mysterious relationship we have with codes, paraphernalia and other things we can not fully comprehend but often adopt or opt in to.
Bett Gallery is one of Australia’s foremost contemporary art institutions, established in 1986 this gallery fosters a tangible enthusiasm for Tasmanian artistic output stretching back three generations, and is considered a national authority on Aboriginal art.
