I Still Have Not Drawn On It …
ARTIST TALK: VERONIKA RADULOVIC

About Veronika Radulovic:
She is an artist, art consultant, writer, curator and – because of her activities in Vietnam – she is considered as one of the most important pioneers in the development of the contemporary art scene in Vietnam. First she came to Vietnam in 1993 to study vietnamese laquer as an intercultural project and became the first international lecturer at the University of Fine Arts Hanoi, the University of Art Saigon and Hue, which has been sponsered by the German DAAD Program. She lived and worked in Hanoi until 2006 and during this time period she collaborated with many institutions and museums and served as an important link between Germany and Vietnam, Singapore, Finnland and also Norway: when she hosted in Vietnam the Royal Visit of the Queen of Norway together with an Artist Delegation organized by OCA.
Beside her work in the academic field she cooperates with Institutes such as Städelschule Frankfurt, ZKM Karlsruhe, Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Hochschule für Kunst und Gestaltung Leipzig and recently with the UdK Bremen. She has been working as a curator and adviser with Goethe Institut, HKW (Haus der Kulturen der Welt / House of World Culture) Berlin, Volksbühne Berlin, ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) Stuttgart and the Museum für Lackkunst Münster as well with the Museum Singapore and the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
2006 she moved back to Germany and published her book: "Sicherheitsabstand, Vietnam, Kunst, Politik. Freundschaften. Eine Annäherung," published by Kerber-Verlag – it is a personal and culture-political account on the development of contemporary art in Vietnam and the importance of intercultural dialogues.
Her archive of original and «forbidden» works of vietnamese art, which includes 1000 photo documentations from the early 90s is a unique and rare document of the transitions in Vietnam. Since last year she is working with the archive in close dialogue with art historians, artists and students from around the world. Veronika Radulovic currently lives and works in Berlin.
