Lecture: Nicolas Ibaceta `The Hospitality of Ciudad Abierta de Amereida`
THE HOSPITALITY IN “CIUDAD ABIERTA DE AMEREIDA"
Nicolas Ibaceta (1986) is an Architect and boat builder from Chile, working within the field of art, architecture and design. In his occupations, he works researching technique and experimentation of free forms using wood.
He is a member of "Ciudad Abierta" a place of architectural experimentation in Chile. Recently, Nicolas Ibaceta, together with other members of the "Ciudad Abierta", presented two installations for Documenta14 (2017). "Paper Paviion" in Athens and "Hospitality Pavilion" in Kassel.
In addition to his work with the "Ciudad Abierta" He has had collaborations with Patrick Steeger of "Uso y Abuso" (Chile, 2014) for which he presented a wooden shell, and with Jose Balcells of "Utopia in Progress" (Belgium, 2015) for which he made another wooden sculpture - "Pajaras Salvajes". Both of these artists are Chilean sculptors, working with new techniques of construction in wood.
At the present time, Nicolas Ibaceta resides in Oslo, Norway.
