Sound Art Seminar
UPDATE!!!!
Unfortunately due to exhibition commitments internationally, Camille Norment will not now be able to join the seminar. We will agree new dates for her to visit KiT in the spring for a lecture and studio visits. The seminar will now feature two presentations, not three.
As part of this autumn's sound art course in collaboration with Music Technology at the Music Conservatory, KiT presents a two-day seminar on Sound Art. Two distinguished speakers will present their works, within the broader context of artists' sound works and contemporary music practices.
Tao Sambolec is a Slovenian composer and sound artist, educated in Trondheim and Amsterdam, and recently completing a three-year research fellowship at Bergen Academy of Art & Design. His works explore embodiment, sensing, location, sound and memory in installations and performances.
Katt Hernandez is currently undertaking a Phd at the Academy of Music in Stockholm. She is an experimental composer, improvisor and sound artist, and has previously worked at Fylkingen, Stockholm's renowned centre for new music and intermedia art. Her works include improvised performances for solo violin, collaborative performances, and multi channel sound installations.
